Watch out Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest – Lady Gaga wants a piece of the cake! The mega-star signer-songwriter has launched her own social network, littlemonsters.com – honouring fans who call themselves “Little Monsters.” The site – which is still in beta-testing mode and by invite only – is similar to Pinterest, allowing users to share photos and videos online.
Known as the Queen of Twitter, with close to 19 million followers, you could say Lady Gaga would be the perfect person to pull off her own social network!
Littemonsters.com was designed by Backplane, a company co-founded by Lady Gaga’s manager, Troy Carter. “Backplane is about bringing together communities and Gaga’s community just so happens to be the community we’re using to learn about proper functionality. We think we can really change the world,” said Backplane CEO Matt Michelsen to Mashable.
It will be interesting to see if any other mega-stars follow in Gaga’s footsteps. Will we soon see a Kutcher Club?
